Part-Time Chinese-English Teaching Assistant
Position: Part-Time Chinese-English Teaching Assistant
General Summary: Stamford International University (STIU) is one of the most diverse universities in Thailand with international students from over 100 countries representing 40% of student population. The Teacher Assistant is responsible for assisting our Lecturer in preparation of teaching materials and including supporting students in class regarding English or Chinese communication.
Compensation: 1,000 THB/hour
Work Location: Rama 9 Campus
Work Schedule: Based on course timetable
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist lecturers in delivering classroom teaching material and activities
- Provide real-time interpretation of teaching content (Chinese-English translation/interpretation) to support students’ understanding in class
- Assist in preparing teaching materials, such as bilingual slides or other supporting documents
- Facilitate classroom discussions and other related academic activities
- Complete other tasks assigned by the lecturer related to teaching assistance.
Job Requirements:
- Language Skills: Proficient in both Chinese and English (spoken and written), capable of real-time translation in class
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or above, Master’s degree preferred
- Academic Major: Preference for candidates majoring in Chinese, English Language or Translation
- Responsibility: Detail-oriented, patient, and able to collaborate effectively in a team environment
- Time Flexibility: Able to work on-campus according to the course schedule
- Candidates with prior experience in teaching, interpreting or translation will be given preference.
