UN Workshops by International Relations Students
Recently, IR students organized and delivered a series of public UN workshops at Stamford’s Rama IX Campus. This was a course project requiring students to collaborate and coordinate together and with individual UN agencies/programs. The workshops showed Stamford students the kind of outreach training that the UNHCR (High Commissioner for Refugees) and UNAIDS gives its staff and volunteers. The students also developed their knowledge of the UN, skill sets (particularly communication), and abilities.
Mr. Keane Shum of the UNHCR and Ms. Michela Polesana of UNAIDS delivered their briefings/workshops to students and faculty. UNAIDS also conducted a fundraising drive at Stamford, assisted by IR students.
